Pillowcases

I did some machine embroidery on a set of pillowcases for a friend. I gave them to her for Christmas - & she has already opened them - so I'm OK to post them on here!

I had originally tried to put this embroidery on pillowcases made in that magic tube technique - but I could not get the design lined up properly. then I bought pillowcases & unpicked all the stitches on the hems - couldn't use those because I could not get all the needle holes out of the fabric. What to do? What to do?? So I bought a flat sheet, washed it in hot water - dried it in a hot dryer , tore it up, marked my centers & embroidered my little heart out.

I used a borders design from Country Needle (dot net) that is sewing themed. It's a "redwork" design & it seemed a little thin so I embroidered the designs twice. My friend's favorite color is BLUE. So BLUE thread instead of red. I also embroidered BOTH sides of the pillow cases. 2 different designs. That way both sides are usable & pretty. Not just ONE.

These turned out really nice & since I still have SHEET left over? I'm going to make a set for myself. LOL.

I can not figure out how to rotate the photos  - excuse the shadows. I was taking these pictures after 10PM
